Water softener calculation

A water softener is a filtration system that works to remove high concentrations of calcium and magnesium that cause hard water.

This tool is useful in determining softener resin quantity, OBR(output before regeneration), salt and water requirement during the regeneration process.

Note:

  1. NaCl required per liter of resin - 150 Grams
  2. Solubility of NaCl per liter of water @ 20 Deg C - 320 Grams
  3. Resin ion exchange capacity is important, it may vary product to product
  4. Unit of exchange capacity is g/L as CaCO3
