Ozone Demand Calculator

This tool is useful in generating rough estimates of ozone demand based on thumb rules. The only way to accurately know the proper ozone demand is to conduct the pilot trials with ozone transfer equipment similar to that which will be used in full scale.

Note:

  1. Iron: The amount of ozone requied is 0.44mg Ozone/mg Fe
  2. Manganese: The amount of ozone requied is 0.88mg Ozone/mg Mn
  3. Hydrogen Sulphide: The amount of ozone requied is 3mg Ozone/mg H2S, but in practice, the excess ozone is used (4mg Ozone/mg H2S).
  4. COD: The amount of ozone requied is 2.5mg Ozone/mg COD
  5. Disinfection: Typically 1mg/L for 1 minute Ct is sufficient to disinfect water.
